At the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City, we believe that every pet deserves access to lifesaving veterinary care—regardless of their owner’s financial situation. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Veterinary Care Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit foundation dedicated to helping veterinary practices provide care for pets in need.

What is the Care Fund?

The Ellicott City Care Fund exists because we’ve seen firsthand what happens when a pet needs emergency care and the finances just aren’t there. This fund allows our community — neighbors, pet lovers, local businesses — to make sure that a family’s financial situation isn’t the last word on whether their pet gets a fighting chance.

How Your Donation Makes a Difference

100% of every donation goes directly toward the medical care of animals in our community. Our hospital covers all administrative costs through membership dues, so your generosity reaches patients — not overhead.

Donations are tax-deductible and stay local. Every dollar contributed is allocated to pets right here in the Ellicott City area.

How the Fund Works

The Care Fund is a limited resource made possible entirely by community donations. To ensure it reaches the pets who need it most, fund assistance is subject to a formal review and approval process — it is not a guaranteed benefit and cannot be requested at the time of service.
 
Eligibility considerations include:
  • The pet’s condition has a reasonable prognosis for recovery
  • The pet has an established relationship with a primary care veterinarian
  • The client has been evaluated for and denied third-party financing options
Fund assistance is identified and initiated by our clinical team based on individual case circumstances. All applications are reviewed and approved by an internal board comprised of members of our medical team. Approval is granted on a case-by-case basis, and availability of funds is not guaranteed.
