Dr. Joshua L. Weisberg

Graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He practiced emergency medicine for two years in Yorktown VA, near his hometown, before joining the Peace Corps and serving for two years in Guatemala. He has been working at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City since 2006. He and his wife live on a farmette in Parkton with their four young boys and many animals, including dogs, cats, dairy goats, chickens, peacocks, and fish. His hobbies include gardening, bird watching, swimming, running, biking, Israeli folk dancing, and hiking.

Dr. Laurie Brewer

Dr. Laurie Brewer joined the Emergency Animal Hospital in 2008 after working as a general practitioner in Maine. She attended the University of Minnesota and received a PhD in molecular virology in 2004 and a DVM in 2006. She is a member of the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She is active in sled dog medicine and has been a team veterinarian for the Can Am International Dog Sled race since 2008.

She enjoys travel, kayaking, camping, hiking and cross country skiing. Her ‘kids’ include five cats, one dog, and a parrot.


Dr. Melissa Reidy

A native of Maryland, Dr. Melissa Reidy received her BS in Zoology at the University of Maryland in 1999 before attending the University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland, where she graduated with honors in veterinary medicine in 2004. She returned to Maryland after graduation and practiced in general small animal medicine for several years, before an interest in emergency medicine led her to join the team at EAH in April 2014. She has a particular interest in feline and geriatric medicine, and internal medicine.

Dr. Reidy enjoys running half marathons and traveling in her free time. She lives with her husband, four cats, and two shih tzus in southern Maryland.
